Accessibility
1. Our commitment
We want this site, the galleries we deliver, and the booths we set up to work for everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, captions or reduced motion. We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
2. This website
- Every page begins with a skip link to the main content.
- All functionality works by keyboard, and focus is always visible.
- Headings follow a logical order and landmarks are used for navigation.
- Text meets or exceeds a 4.5:1 contrast ratio against its background; large display text meets or exceeds 3:1. Most body text on this site sits above 7:1.
- Colour is never the only way information is conveyed.
- Images carry meaningful alternative text, and decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- Text reflows without loss of content at 320px wide and remains readable at 200% zoom.
- Animation respects the
prefers-reduced-motionsetting. Nothing moves automatically for more than five seconds, and nothing flashes. - Form fields have visible, persistent labels rather than placeholder-only labelling.
- Videos load only when you choose to play them, so nothing autoplays with sound.
3. Known limitations
We would rather name these than imply they don't exist.
- Embedded video player. Films are hosted on Vimeo and play in Vimeo's own player, whose accessibility we do not control. If a player control is unusable for you, contact us and we will send the file directly.
- Captions. Not every film in our portfolio carries captions yet. We caption all client deliverables on request and are working back through the portfolio.
- Gallery platform. Event galleries are delivered through a third-party platform. We can supply images by another route if the gallery is not usable for you.
4. Accessible deliverables
Accessibility is part of the work, not an extra. On request, and at no additional charge for standard projects, we provide:
- burned-in or sidecar captions (SRT/VTT) for every video deliverable;
- a full transcript for interviews and long-form films;
- alternative text suggestions for delivered photographs;
- colour-contrast-checked lower thirds and on-screen titles;
- audio description on request, quoted per project.
If your organization is subject to Section 508 or a state equivalent, tell us at the quoting stage and we will build the deliverables to that standard from the start.
5. On site
At headshot booths and event shoots we will, where the venue allows:
- set the booth at a height and depth that accommodates seated and standing participants, including wheelchair users;
- keep a clear approach path to the shooting position;
- offer verbal, written or demonstrated posing direction, whichever works best for the person in front of the camera;
- avoid strobe and flashing lighting where a participant tells us it is a problem, and use continuous lighting instead;
- let anyone bring a support person or interpreter into the booth area;
- deliver photographs by email rather than picture message for anyone who prefers it.
Tell us about a specific accommodation when you book and we will plan for it rather than improvise on the day.
6. Feedback
If any part of this site or our service is difficult to use, tell us. Email info@fatemediacreative.com or call (619) 495-2320. Describe the page or situation and what went wrong, and we will respond within 5 business days with a fix or a workable alternative.
We treat accessibility reports as bugs, not complaints. They get fixed.
